CHRISTINA & JAMES The Golf Club at Newcastle

October 10th was a beautiful day for a wedding at The Golf Club at Newcastle! Christina and James had a Chinese tea ceremony just prior to their beautiful wedding ceremony attended by over 300 guests. We had a fun time photographing them and their guests throughout the day, especially at our crazy booth during the reception. Here are just a few images from their wedding day!

Jennie and David had their Chinese and Vietnamese wedding celebration on Saturday, September 26th. The day started out at Jennie’s family home with Jennie in a beautiful traditional Chinese outfit awaiting David and his groomsmen to arrive for the fun challenges from the bridesmaids! Following the tea ceremony, it was off to David’s family home. There, Jennie changed into a traditional Vietnamese outfit and then it was time for the tea ceremony. After a delicious lunch, Jennie changed into her gorgeous wedding dress and we all headed out for some fun photos! The day ended with a great reception at the New Hong Kong Restaurant in the International District where there was great food, fun singing, dancing and toasting! Don’t miss their slide show below.

JANET + JIM Hyatt Regency Bellevue Wedding

A couple weeks ago we had the honor of creating some really artful images from Jim and Janet’s Chinese wedding, the beautiful outfits, the tea ceremony and an energetic and fun Bride and Groom, not to mention bridesmaids and groomsmen, made it easy to capture scenes of spontaneity and love. Jim and Janet were married on September 5th at the First United Methodist Church of Bellevue followed by the tea ceremony and reception at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue.

vincent + vivian destination wedding vancouver, b.c.

Vincent and Vivian were married on 05.09.09 at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church in Vancouver, BC and held their reception at Kirin Seafood Restaurant in Richmond, BC. We totally lucked out with the weather that day! Vince and Vivian were great to work with, they are an awesome couple with a great sense of humor! The morning for us started at 8:30am with Vince and Vivian getting ready for the day’s events that lasted throughout the day and into late evening. It was a beautiful traditional Chinese Wedding with lots of fun games, tea ceremonies and seriously good food! Vivian had several outfit changes during the day, starting with the Chinese qua, then into here wedding dress and then the cheong sum. They were great models for us as we drove all around Vancouver for photo ops, so was the bridal party. Don’t miss their slide show below.

Pravda Studios | henry + lorna

Henry and Lorna are an incredible, fun and stylish couple and they LOVE good food! Lorna, a food columnist for Seattle Magazine and a self-taught pastry chef, together with Henry, an architect, started Cache, a private dinner club. The engagement, involving food of course, occurred at Mistral. Grape sorbet topped with gold leaf was the last course to a 12 course dinner. Lorna’s engagement ring, a yellow diamond, was placed in the sorbet, camouflaged by the gold leaf. For their wedding reception, they selected 4 of the 12 courses from their dinner at Mistral. Grape sorbet was the dessert in which one of the sorbets had a toy ring placed into it. The guest who ended up with that plate of grape sorbet won a prize. The whole day at Pravda was incredible…after the emotional tea ceremony/wedding ceremony, 6 delectable cocktail items were passed, prepared by Shannon Galusha of Veil and Eric Banh of Monsoon brought in the roast suckling pig. The sit down dinner was prepared by William Belickis, formerly of Mistral. There was also a fun scrapbooking table, dragon dancers, a beautiful dessert buffet and a VERY delicious cake by Bakery Nouveau‘s William Leaman. The wedding cake had different flavors on each tier and Lorna’s favorite tier was a 7 layer creation with caramel mousse, hazelnut mousse, Valrhona dark chocolate mousse, dark chocolate cake, sandwiched between three thin layers of chocolate sponge cake. Incredible! William created it especially for their wedding, and the flavors were inspired by his award-winning pastry called “The Phoenix”. The signature drinks for the night, created by Eric Witsoe of Tavolata, were the Lorna and the Henry. If that wasn’t enough, at the end of the night, Lorna surprised their guests with a Poco Carretto Gelato cart! Don’t miss their slide show below.

Lorna’s favorite hors devours were the octopus with chorizo powder, and the crab and avocado.
